The
project involves the provision and installation of R(random) V(visual) R(range)
systems which will cover the needs of the airports of Samos, Syros, Zante, Kefallonia,
Mitilene, Skiathos, Myconos and Thessalonica.

systems which will cover the needs of the airports of Samos, Syros, Zante, Kefallonia,
Mitilene, Skiathos, Myconos and Thessalonica.
The offered visibility measurement systems will be installed at the runways of the airports and shall include two complete optometers in each airport (excluding that of Thessaloniki where only one will be installed) and three digital imaging positions (one at the HNMS office, one at the electronics lab and one at the control tower) in each airport.
The offered system constitutes an open and scalable solution for airports according to the directions of the ICAO. The system may expand to a Complete Meteorological System using sensors such as: wind measurement systems, weather forecast automatic stations, cloud base height measurement systems, etc.
Τhe offered system includes communication between the optometers and the digital imaging units, as well as processing, visualization, storage and printing of data and graphs, using the IT equipment, which is offered within the project.
