Brief Description of the Project
FAGE entrusted Space Hellas with the design of a local area network and installation of the same in FAGE headquarters. It should be noted that this application incorporates QoS technologies which ensure high quality in information transfer.
For a practical and technologically acceptable upgrade of the local network, the active equipment of the client had to be replaced. The solution proposed involved the setting up of a hierarchical network of Ethernet/Fast Ethernet technology (linking the terminal equipment) while the Gigabit Ethernet technology on fibre-optics was used for the backbone network. The equipment architecture included a series of Cisco Systems switches (2900 and 3500).
A factor which weighted most in FAGE's selection of Space Hellas is the trust which our company inspires in FAGE about our technical expertise in demanding projects. The constraining factor in this project was that the installation had to be installed within a few hours, to prevent the interruption of client operations.
The new network architecture is expected to make significant contributions towards reliable connections among the various departments of the client, ensuring extremely low operating costs and increased service efficiency.
