SPACE HELLAS LEADING A EUROPEAN PROJECT IN CYBERDEFENSE

The European Committee has approved for funding the proposal submitted by Space Hellas, acting as the leader of 15 entities consortium, for a new ambitious research and development (R&D) program, under the title PANDORA: Cyber Defense Platform for Real-Time Threat Hunting, Incident Response and Information Sharing. The PANDORA project is one of the first 16 projects that join the EDIDP (European Defense Industrial Development Program), the new EU program for funding R&D projects in the defense sector. The total project budget is € 7,6 million and the European funding is € 6,8 million.

The aim of the project is to develop an open software system for cyber threat hunting and incident response, particularly emphasizing at endpoint protection and threat intelligence sharing.

The Pandora consortium, which is coordinated by Space Hellas, consists of defense industries, small and medium enterprises and research centers from eight European state-members. More specifically the related entities are: Thales Hellas, Infili Technologies, Orion Innovations (Greece), Ubitech (Cyprus), Naval Group, Gatewatcher (France) GMVIS SkySoft, INESC TEC, CINAMIL (Portugal), CTTC (Spain), AIT (Austria), ΗM EI, CyberServices (Hungary), Thales Belgium, NVISO (Belgium). The Greek participation rises at 38% of the total budget of the project.

PANDORA's technological solution is primarily aimed at governmental organizations in the defense sector, while crucial to the success of the proposal, but also the project in general, is its active support from the Ministries of National Defense of Greece and Cyprus, which participate at PANDORA, not only as end users, but also as co-funders. PANDORA is also directly related to the multinational project "Cyber Threats and Incident Response Information Sharing Platform (CTISP)" which is implemented in the framework of the PESCO program and is coordinated by the Cyber Defense Division of GEETHA.

The constructive collaboration of Space Hellas with the involved operators of the Ministry of National Defense, effectively contributed to the success of the project's proposal.

Space Hellas R&D Division has a number of successful projects, recognized at a European level, and important collaborations with high-profile European companies and academic institutions. The company is constantly investing in research and development, utilizing its technological achievements and know-how to create innovative solutions with competitive advantage.
