Summary:

The collection, management, analysis and intelligent use of content and information from modern tracking technologies opens up new opportunities and possibilities, but also challenges, for innovative applications that will make our cities safer for citizens. In this direction, the available basic services and applications based on information and communication technologies aim to improve citizens' sense of security in their lives and their trust in institutions and the state.

SafeCity develops integrated, technologically advanced and innovative applications to increase safety in urban areas. The project aims to create an information platform for the interconnection of smart infrastructures that will exploit data from BLE sensors and other on the one hand and on the other hand the input and sharing of information by citizens themselves (in combination with the use of mobile applications) to locate and rescue people or find objects and potentially provide a safe routing service to citizens, visitors and tourists.

The company was co-funded by the European Union and National Resources under the “Investment Innovation Plans” Action of the Operational Program of the Region of Central Macedonia 2014-2020. The action (project) (ΚΜΡ6-0081411) aims to use a set of cutting-edge technologies, smart city infrastructure, citizens smartphones and tools for data analysis to improve the security conditions in urban areas. The project budget amounts to €397,350 and the Public Expenditure to €305,195.
