Concise Description of the Project
The task of upgrading the nodal network of the National Bank was designed and implemented by Space Hellas in collaboration with the Bank's Information Technology Management.
The existing data communications network of the bank is composed by the Core ATM network and, then, by 2 cumulation levels (Nodal, Regional) and the edge level.
The project concerns the upgrade of Core ATM network as well as of the nodal network.
The upgrade of the Core ATM network was implemented via the addition of high speed interfaces in the existing ATM switches of Cisco Systems 84 xx and the corresponding increase of speeds of their interface lines at E3 and STM 1 speeds.
The upgrade of nodal network was implemented via the replacement of this level Routers by their VMSs 7330. At the same time, the interface lines of regional points were concentrated with the use of E1 lines with multiple channels.
This upgrade boosted the bank's data network with multiple power, high connection speeds and upgradeability that were essential for the operation of the current and future exigent IT applications of the bank.
